Default Social Marketing - Video Submission

Hi Matt,

How This Will Work: Basically I am going to be teaching you everything you need to do to get you #1 in the search engines. We are going to have to start with the basics but then we will move into some new techniques that will work overnight!

Answering Your Video Questions: Usually a video can be a *.mpg, *.mpeg,*.asf,*.avi,*.wmv,*.asx. The fastest, easiest, cheapest, and most cost effectvie way to show videos on your website would be to upload them to YouTube.com and then embed YouTubes code on your website. This way your server bandwidth does not get out of control. Plus YouTube.com is so large search engines pick up new videos up almost overnight!

A video can be as short as 30 seconds or as long as 30 minutes. What works the best is usually a 1-2 minute video. I would suggest going on YouTube.com and searching for videos. Search for bars, clubs, happy hour, etc… Find what type of videos your like, what videos are viewed the most, top rated, commented on the most, etc…

What Type Of Video Camera to Buy: You don’t need a fancy video camera or professional videos, I would suggest buying this video camera: The Flip - Products - Flip Video.

You don’t need to create any 360 videos or anything like that. You just need to create videos that your users will want to see. I think your visitors might want to see videos showing

1. THE BASICS: what the bar looks like, if it has pool tables, restaurant, etc…
2. THE PEOPLE: who visits the bar, the women , the men, the bar tenders, etc...

3. PROVOCATIVE/FUNNY/SEXY: people really like seeing these types of videos. You need to create videos that will "spark" bar/club visitors to say..."check out this video on ThriftyHipster.com" or "check out this video ThriftyHipster posted on YouTube."

What will Happen After You Have The Videos:

We will post distribute them on YouTube, Google Videos, Yahoo Videos, and around 70 of the top video sharing sites online. This will also allow you to embed the videos on ThriftyHipster.com (i.e. show videos on your site) with out having to pay a programmer to build a video player or take up extra bandwidth on your site.

Questions For You:

What are your thoughts? Do you have any questions? Do you have a video camera already? Do you think you could get videos from each bar/club? Do you have any young/good looking ladies/men to run around with video camera at bars/clubs?

Default Why has my search engine traffic dropped?

Oh, what I meant was, we are not found at the top of google searches anymore, with the exception of Minneapolis bars and maybe a few others, but we used to come up in the top 5 for any bar name search (with a few exceptions, but mostly)

So, if not ‘page rank’ I mean top search result, which I thought was the same… from what I gather from talking to other people and my own research, it’s a combination of url, xml, html, css, and meta structure, as well as credible links, depth of content, keywords, etc.

If we used to get a ton of traffic from search engines, but we’re not anymore, what could be the reason? Obviously, either people aren’t searching for those key words anymore, or, we’ve dropped further down the list of results. It may be the first, however, when I physically search old key words that we were tops on, I find we’re not now. So I guess I’m not 100% sure whats up with that.
