Ok, we will focus on those keywords first. Before we do we need to take care of one thing.

1. On Page Optimization: We need to modify your meta tags. You need install an SEO MOD that will allow you to create different meta tags for each web page.

InvenTube.com has 2,830 pages index by Google (site:InvenTube.com) but 1600 pages in supplementary results. Google puts web pages in their 'supplementary index' they feel are less important, duplicate content, or just not visited enough. These results appear after your normal results and count significantly less, possible not at all, in the eyes of Google.

One reason your site could have so many pages in the supplemental result is you do not have unique meta tags on each page. Unfortunately your version of PHPFOX does not have this so we need to install a fix.

I found a great SEO PHPFOX MOD in PHPFOX's forums. What I suggest is you buy that mod, pay a programmer to install it, and we will both monitor the results while we work on targeting these keywords.

Hi

I am getting some mixed results on your supplemental results. This used to be a lot easier when google specifically stated if each page was in supplemental or not. The removed this tool so now internet marketers need to use different methods.

From the best of my knowledge typing in site:www.inventube.com *** -view shows you the number of pages in your supplementary results. But I have also consulted with others (who I trust greatly) who have said that supplementary index is not used anymore.

Either way, having unique meta tags (mainly page titles) will help dramatically. It will help not only for your members posting new inventions but also will allow you to create custom meta tags, because who really searches for " Blog >> InvenTube.com"

We need to change that to something like this: "Inventors Blog | New Invention Ideas"

You have an empty resource section and I plan on having you fill it up with Helpful, Quality, and Resourceful articles. These are the keywords you are targeting so we want to make sure these articles revolve somewhat around these topics:

The key to writing good content is writing quality content. You need to ask yourself if I was an inspiring inventor or investor would I really enjoy finding & reading this article. You want your articles to be good enough to be published in The New York Times.

WHY? Because we will start by publishing them on your site but then use social media tools such as digg, reddit, sphere, ezinearticles, prweb, youtube, blogs, forums, and other popular social media tools to promote, or Distribute, these articles...if they are good enough why not send them to popular Invention Magazines...maybe the will publish them.

If you write quality enough articles this process will be easy. Bloggers & Website Owners will link to your articles because they are quality. What happens when you write a very quality article & get it infront of the right audience is a domino affect. Bloggers see other bloggers witting about it and one after another people start linking to your article... increasing your link value and your search engine rankings for those keywords.

What I suggest you do:

Lets start small with 1 keyword/topic (1) African American Inventors. Create an outline of ALL the articles you want to write within that subject. Then lets create a new section on your resource section called: African American Inventions.

Articles I suggest you write:

1. Top 10 African American Inventors
- Then go into detail about each one, background, inventions, USE PICTURES, etc..

2. How to Patent an Idea? I know it doesn't relate to African American Inventors but that would be a really good article that people would want to read...if it is done right.

3. Any & All topics you decide.

What Will Happen Next:

Once you have that article written we want to "Funnel" links to your main 'African American Inventor' resource page. You will have one main page in your resource section called "African American Inventors." From that page you will link to multiple "African American Inventor" articles.

Linking internally (from Inventube.com) will be the easiest so we will start with that. You have a blog, forum, marketplace, groups, member pages, home page, and other sections of your website that you can use to link to your main "African American Inventors" page. It isn't hard writing a blog entry or a forum post and linking to that section.

I say "funnel" because it is a great visual of how a link structure should be built when targeting a keyword. Your main "African American Inventors" resource section is the bottom of your funnel. What we want to do is link from all different places to that one place...showing the search engines the importance of that main section.

After that we will focus on "Off Page Optimization." We will find creative ways to get other related websites & social media websites to link to that main page and the internal articles.

This process may seem like a lot of work but once you get the hang of it is simple. We will get better at it each time we repeat it for each of your keywords.

Content is huge...but so is linking. I like to start out with content but when I get bored of writing I like to study my competition...see what they are doing...see who is linking to them...see how they are developing links.

1. Did you download SEOBook.com Back Link Analyzer & did you watch the video on how to use it?

2. Do you know how to use Yahoo Site Explorer to find competitors back links.

Instructions:

1. Yahoo! Site Explorer
2. Type in URL
3. Click on 'inlinks' once the results show up

What this will show you is every link Yahoo views for that URL organized by importance. So the #1 result Yahoo views as the most important link for that URL.

So along with our own link development campaign we want to study competitors, see what they are doing, and copy them...we want to do everything they are doing plus more.

3. Sign up for Google Alerts

Google Alerts

Very simple, you enter in your e-mail address, keywords you want to target (tip: use "quotes" around keyword phrases so you don't get 100's of e-mails). So you would want to type in "African American Inventors" so you are notified every time Google indexes a new page that has that keyword in it.

WHY: Your "African American Inventor" section needs to be the best resource on the web about African American Inventors. If new articles, resources, or events come up that deal with that subject you need to be aware of them and take action.

Many times this just means commenting on the article with a link back to your site. If a blog writes an article about 'African American Inventors' commenting on the article and including a link back to your site with an anchor text "African American Inventors" (but your link would go to your African American Resource section) will help you "funnel" links externally to your section.
